Ryan Phillippe’s Maybe Baby, The Latest Mary-Kate and Ashley and The Cast of Glee’s New Gig

Posted: 03 Aug 2011 02:04 AM PDT

By Chloe Schneider

It is still a mystery whether or not Ryan Phillippe is the father of ex girlfriend Alexis Knapp’s daughter but a recent reveal has us thinking the answer is yes.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and a busy pair with a bunch of fashion projects in the works but they haven’t neglected their friends, taking some time out for a bachelorette bash in Vegas.
The Glee Club are set to get fashionable this September, we check out the rumours that have been circulating in the fashion pack.

Ryan Phillippe’s Third Child
On the 1st of July, Alexis Knapp delivered a baby girl while Ryan Phillippe was in the room to support her. One month on and there is still no official word on who the father is.
This week it was revealed the one-month-old girl’s birth certificate names her Kailani Merizalde Phillippe Knapp. This seems a pretty clear indication that Ryan Phillippe is in fact the baby daddy but the certificate has the ‘father’ section left blank so one can’t be sure just yet.
Phillippe’s party are yet to comment on the matter and haven’t done so since March when they told People, “Ryan is aware of the situation [and] totally prepared to take responsibility should the child be his.”

Mary-Kate and Ashley Take Vegas
Mary-Kate and Ashley have seen huge success with their lines Elizabeth & James and The Row, having just recently launched a range of killer handbags and now it’s time to give back.
Shoe brand Toms have teamed up with the stylish twins for a limited edition range where every pair purchased in store gives a pair of shoes to an underprivileged child. The simple but very generous idea saw MK and A set off to Honduras with a group of volunteers to see to it that the complimentary shoes fit the children.
In between these fashionable and charitable ventures, the Olsen twins have taken some time out for themselves to enjoying a friend’s bachelorette party. The pair were spotted feasting at a Japanese restaurant earlier in the night before heading to Gold Boutique Nightclub and Lounge for drinks and dancing.

Glee Club’s Fashionable Night Out
According to New York Post’s ‘Page Six’, the Glee club are set to act as spokespersons for Fashion’s Night Out on September 8. The huge annual event, now in its third year, draws incredible crowds and is put on by none other that Anna Wintour.
Spokespeople appear in stores all the way from New York to Los Angeles and we’re sure the Glee club would draw a few faces who otherwise wouldn’t attend.
According to the report Wintour’s daughter Bee Shaffer was the one to make the collaboration happen, as she is an intern at Ryan Murphy’s (the creator of Glee) production company.

Pierre-Andre Senizergues from Etnies interview for livincool.com

Posted: 02 Aug 2011 10:01 PM PDT

Pierre-Andre Senizergues is the mind behind Etnies and The Sole Technology ( Emerica, Es, Altamont etc). In honor of the 25th anniversary of Etnies we had the occasion to exclusively interview Mr Pierre on the history, the future and the secret of Etnies. Check it out after the jump.

Versione italiana dopo il salto

etnies is a top brand of the action sport industry, when you have opened your brand 25
years ago what were your ambitions and dreams about it? When you have decided to
launch etnies? Why and How? During the years how etnies has evolved inside the action
sport world?

Well, just to clarify, I wasn't the founder of etnies, I was brought on to etnies in those very early
days as a sponsored pro skater. Because the brand was small, straight from the start, I saw how
much input that I had in shaping the company. I launched the brand in the US, which is when it
really took off and eventually was able to buy it and make it my own, however, I was part of its
history almost from day one. It's been incredible. etnies was established in 1986, and was the
first skateboarder-owned and operated global action sports footwear and apparel company. In the
early days in France, the skate community was very small and we were like a tribe that skated
together. The name etnies comes from the word "ethnic" which was inspired by skateboarding
as a tribe. From the beginning, etnies approached things from a skate perspective as we were
the only footwear company that came from skateboarders for skateboarders. We created the
first pro model skate shoe, and we've pioneered technological advances that have changed the
face of skateboard footwear forever. In the early half of the millennium, we took that commitment
for technological innovation a step further by creating the Sole Technology Institute, which is the
first and only biomechanics lab dedicated to studying the impacts of skateboarding on the body.
Today, we remain a leading action sports company committed to creating products that provide
the most style, comfort and protection possible. etnies stays true to who we are by sponsoring
world class skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, moto x, BMX and auto teams and we continue
to remain dedicated by giving back to each of these communities.

When I was younger I used to wear your fat skateboarding shoes with large pants and hats,
now the trend of the skateboarding is more slim fit, what are the evolution of the etnies
style?

Haha! I definitely remember those days. I think of Sal Barbier in those days wearing the all red
RAP shoe with those baggy pants! Of course, we've evolved with our consumer, so as the trends
changed, we learned how to adapt our skate specific technology to still deliver the protection and
support that we need for skateboarding, all the while making good looking shoes. We've obviously
seen the trend go away from cup sole and more toward vulcanized soles, which contributes not
only to a popular look, but to a desired board feel for many skaters. We just take it to the next
level by making sure our vulcanized shoes are the most comfortable on the market. Have you
ever worn one of our vulc shoes – there's not a footbed out there quite like it – it's amazingly
comfortable.

What is the mood of this 25th anniversary?
Most people look at their past when celebrating their anniversary. We decided to look at things
differently this time around and focus on the future and what the NEXT 25 years of etnies
holds. In doing that, we focused on two key things that are part of our DNA: Technology and
the environment. We've launched initiatives to our consumers that were forward thinking and
represented the future. The two main product oriented projects are Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree that

I will get into later on in this interview. The second one is the launching of our STI Fusion shoe.,
which addresses a combination of both technology and environment. For more than 100 years,
vulcanized shoe construction has remained the same … until now. Through our Sole Technology
Institute (STI), we set out to break the vulcanized mold and created STI Fusion, a new cold-
fusion technology that ultimately produces a better skate shoe: more durable, lighter weight, more
comfortable and flexible, better performance and much better for the environment to make. STI
Fusion boasts a 75% reduction time, which has a correlative impact on energy and water and
offers a savings of 33% in labor and 8% reduction of adhesives. It's pretty amazing to me that no
one has changed the way that the industry makes vulcanized shoes for almost 100 years. Fusion
truly represents the future! etnies has debuted STI Fusion technology in Ryan Sheckler's fifth pro
model shoe, the Sheckler 5, released June 2011 and available all throughout the summer and fall.

What is the future of your shoes? Do you have care at the nature?
For us, there's no better way to celebrate the future than by planting a rainforest in Costa
Rica through etnies' new Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree project. For every pair of Jameson 2 Eco
shoes sold, etnies will plant one tree in what will become the new rainforest. We're on track to
plant 35,000 trees on the Maleku reserve in northern Costa Rica this year. The Maleku are an
indigenous tribe with a way of life that revolves around the forest, and they are rightfully known
as the guardians of the forest. For more than 150 years, the Maleku have had to fight for their
trees that were depleted due to cattle farming and a horrible rubber-tree war, which led to a
massacre, and nearly wiped out their tribe. The United Nations has sanctioned their land as a
biological corridor to be restored and the international organization has officially marked 2011 as
the "Year of the Forest" globally. The Maleku just need help obtaining the trees to reach their goal
of reforesting the lands they live off of. That's where the etnies Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree project
comes in.
It's been an exciting project and one that we plan to keep going on for years to come.

What do you think about the world of internet and the blogosphere where everybody could
express their opinion about everything? Is it good for your work?

I think it's great! Transparency is always good and being able to have direct dialogue with our fans
is important. It allows us to see and interact with them on such a more personal level. Yes, you
have to take the not-so-nice comments and digest them and learn from them. But, overall, we see
a lot of positive support from people.

What is the future of the action sports?
More and more people are able to enjoy skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, BMX and moto x
and with that comes more opportunity. The downside to the growth is that large companies who
don't live and breathe what we do have come in from the outside and are taking over big chunks of
the market. When no authenticity exists, compromises are made by these players and sometimes
in the wrong areas. When I look to how I envision what the NEXT 25 years holds for etnies and
the other brands under Sole Technology, I know that our number one goal is to remain true to our
roots. We will continue to operate first as skateboarders and with that our decisions will be guided
by our passion. Passion is what fuels great innovation. The future truly is about how technology
and the environment will impact our world. I'm confident that we'll remain a major part of how this
takes shape for the future of action sports.

Do you know livincool.com before this interview?
I was not aware of your site, but I checked it out and love what you are doing. Thanks for the
feature on our history – it was in Italian, so I couldn't read it, but I love the photos you decided to
use.

Versione italiana:

Come avete lanciato etnies e come mai? Come vi siete evoluti?

Incredibile no?

Moltissima gente sta iniziando a praticare lo skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, BMX and moto x
