10-11:15PM, HBO, SERIES DEBUT

The series delves into the messy fallout within the newsroom, while turning a critical eye on cable news. ''I feel like a lot of news outlets have abdicated their responsibility. IN THEATERS THIS WEEKEND
Brave Brave Written by a coed team and directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman, the movie displays its own independent spirit — its Pixar-ness — in the filmmakers' willingness to let conflict play out at length. There's characteristic psychological sophistication (a company strength) when it comes to the depiction of family dynamics. B -Lisa Schwarzbaum
Seeking a Friend for the End of the World The unlikely him-and-her buddy combo is odd to the point of fascination: Thrown together on a time-sensitive road trip to find the high school love of Dodge's life, the two appear sometimes to be driving through Jim Jarmusch territory, other times along Tree of Life highways. B+ -LS
To Rome With Love Woody Allen has entered a phase in which he seems less movie director than travel agent, dispensing scenic Euro vistas, new versions of old jokes, and his own version of storybook swag — ''fables'' with all the depth of designer bonbons. B- -Owen Gleiberman
