Friday, June 15, 2012 High Park Fire Rages: Jumps Hwy 14, Prompts New Evacuations The High Park Fire near Fort Collins, Colo. raged on Thursday night -- fire embers jumped Highway 14 and started a 60-100 acre fire on the north side of Poudre Canyon near Steven's Gulch. The wildfire has burned an estimated 52,000 acres, destroyed or damaged 118 structures and claimed the life of one Colorado woman.
