Congratulations: Lebron “King” James, Dwyane “Wayne” Wade, Chrissy Bosh, And The Miami Heat Win The NBA Championship! [Photos] Posted: 22 Jun 2012 06:00 AM PDT The King finally has his crown. Miami Heat Win The NBA Championship The decision is final: LeBron James made the right call coming to Miami. Finally an NBA champion, it’s all worth it now. James had 26 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists, and got the kind of help that was worth leaving home for, leading the Heat in a 121-106 rout of the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night to win the NBA Finals in five games. Best player in the game, best team in the league. James has found it all since taking his talents to South Beach. “It means everything,” James said moments after the win. “I made a difficult decision to leave Cleveland but I understood what my future was about … I knew we had a bright future (in Miami). This is a dream come true for me. This is definitely when it pays off.” He left the game along with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh for good with 3:01 remaining for a round of hugs and the start for a celebration he’s been waiting for since arriving in the NBA out of high school as the No. 1 pick of the 2003 draft. James hopped up and down in the final minutes, shared a long hug with opponent Kevin Durant, and watched the confetti rain down from the rafters. Bosh and Wade, the other members of the Big Three who sat alongside James as he promised titles at his Miami welcoming party two summers ago, both had strong games. Bosh, who broke down in tears as the Heat left their own court after losing Game 6 last year, finished with 24 points and Wade scored 20. The Heat also got a huge boost from Mike Miller, who made seven 3-pointers and scored 23 points. Lebron James has now won an NBA title at a younger age than when Michael Jordan got his first Championship. So the question is, does Lebron James go on to become the greatest NBA player of all time?? For Discussion: “Slave For A Day” Black History Program Causes Controversy…Insensitive Or No?? Posted: 22 Jun 2012 06:00 AM PDT “Slave For A Day” Black History Program Causes Controversy Who here would want to be a slave for a day??? The July 8 event, which park ranger and event organizer Angela Roberts-Burton said is part of the historical site's monthly black history educational series, caused a stir on the Internet for what some believe was insensitive wording. "By no means am I trying to, or are we the Park Service, trying to assimilate the atrocities that slave African-Americans endured," Roberts-Burton said Wednesday. "This is just a glimpse of the hard work, being out in the heat and sun," she said. In the initial event description on the Hampton National Historic Site website, which was online until Tuesday, Roberts-Burton used the "Slave for a Day" heading. The release also used exclamation points to note that it was the "first time ever at Hampton!" and participants could "carry buckets of water with a yoke on your shoulders!" The posting drew response online, including from the site Baltimore Fishbowl, where blogger Rachel Monroe wrote, "Clearly Hampton is approaching this from an education-is-good! perspective. Their hearts are in the right place. … Still, the inescapable and brutal fact of slavery was that it wasn't for a day. … Some things are too profound to playact, it seems to me." Anthony Fugett, vice president of the Baltimore County chapter of the NAACP and a former board member for the national NAACP, said he had no problem with the program, but agreed the title was an issue. "The event was well-intentioned, but the name may have been inappropriate, and I'm glad to see they changed it," said Fugett, an Owings Mill resident. "I don't see it as a menacing event at all," Fugett said. "Slavery is a part of the history of the country and the state of Maryland. The one thing we don't want is for our history to be missed, and sometimes it's good to get a perspective of a day in the life of a slave." Roberts-Burton said she used the language in the initial posting because she was excited for the fact that it's the first such event at Hampton. Roberts-Burton said the free program will allow participants to experience the same type of farm labor as enslaved people at Hampton Mansion did. "Obviously, I have the backing of the National Park Service," she said. The July 8 event will end with a memorial ceremony conducted by the African Diaspora Ancestral Commemoration Institute, and will commemorate those who were enslaved at Hampton. Roberts-Burton, who is black, said some critics who contacted her after the event was posted suggested they just hold the healing ceremony, but she said that ceremony would be moot without knowledge of what needed healing. "We have programs on a monthly basis on the African-American experience, and most of the time people who attend are a majority white," Roberts-burton said. "We're trying to get more African-Americans to come to the site, but considering the city is majority black, the majority of our visitation is white." Thoughts??? Discuss… Source

Transgender Athlete Who Was Taunted As The “Gay Kid” In High School Fails To Make US Olympic Team For Hammer Throw Posted: 22 Jun 2012 05:43 AM PDT Transgender Athlete Fails To Make Olympic Team American Keelin Godsey finished fifth in the hammer throw at Thursday’s Olympic trials in Portland. And while fifth isn’t typically front page fodder, Godsey, 28, who was born and still competes as a female, now identifies as a male and was striving to become the first American to openly identify as a transgender athlete at the Olympics. Godsey's chances of making the team were slim to start; he fulfilled the B-standard of 69.00 meters for Olympic qualifying, but needed to either win Thursday's Trials or finish in the top three and fulfill the A-standard of 71.50 meters. He was only able to toss the hammer 70.49, a personal best. The road’s been tough for Godsey, who last month told Sports Illustrated he endured verbal and physical abuse as “the ‘gay’ kid” throughout high school, including having his ribs broken by a group of female students. In college Godsey was segregated to his own locker room – a converted cement room with a door – after coming out as transgender to his dean, athletic director, and teammates in the spring of 2005. "In some ways this is the last body I would ever want," Godsey told SI. "I'm a female when I compete. Every day I have to sweat, stress, and freak out. How do I look? What is someone going to think of me?” Amid the hardships Godsey broke collegiate records and graduated as a 16-time All-America competing in hammer, discus, shot put, and the weight throw. Unfortunately his dream of becoming an Olympian was a bit too tall a task. With his career seemingly over, Godsey will now start the medical process of gender reassignment, beginning with testosterone supplements and eventually physical surgery. Source

And Another One: Kris “The Dumped Hump” May Also Recruit Reggie Bush To Dish The Dirt On Kimmy Cakes In Divorce Proceedings Posted: 22 Jun 2012 05:32 AM PDT
Kris Humphries To Depose Reggie Bush In Divorce From Kim Kardashian Will Reggie Bush throw Kimmy Cakes under the bus? Word on the street is the baller may be called in to help Kris Humphries case by talking about his relationship with the reality star and what he may know about her intentions with the Nets player. According to RadarOnline reports: The bitter divorce between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries could get nastier because the NBA star’s legal team is considering issuing a subpoena for the reality star’s ex-boyfriend, Reggie Bush, to be deposed, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting. Team Humphries is now “gathering information from the men, including ex-boyfriend, Reggie Bush," a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com. As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Kardashian’s legal team has formally subpoenaed Kris’ ex-flame, Myla Sinanaj, to dish about her relationship with the NBA star. Humphries accused the New York City hotel worker of attempting to extort him for millions of dollars because she allegedly threatened to go public with intimate details of their relationship. Myla’s pit-bull attorney, Joe Tacopina, previously told us that there is absolutely no evidence that she ever asked Humphries for any money. Humphries’ attorneys will issue a subpoena for Kim Kardashian’s boyfriend, Kanye West, to be deposed. The gloves are now off because Kim is dragging Humphries ex-flame into the divorce, and for a very long time Kris’ lawyers wanted to go after the men in Kim’s life, but he didn’t want to put her personal life under scrutiny–however, the New Jersey Nets b-baller has given the green light to his lawyers. "There were reports late last year that Kim was considering getting back together with Reggie, and his lawyers would like to know what she said to him about the divorce, and her decision to file for divorce," the source said. "Kris isn’t intimidated or threatened by Kim and her lawyers. He isn’t thrilled that Myla will be deposed, but he has nothing to hide. If Kim wants to go down this road, he has no choice but to do the same thing. Again, this ISN’T about money, it’s about getting the truth out, it’s all Kris has wanted since he filed his divorce response.” Meanwhile, Kim and Kris’ upcoming depositions won’t be filmed. The E! reality starlet’s deposition will take place in Los Angeles at her lawyer Laura Wasser’s office, while Humphries’ will be conducted in Minnesota, and both are scheduled to take place in the next several weeks. Once the depositions take place a trial date will likely be scheduled for later this year. A rep for Humphries had no comment. We can only imagine what Reggie might say… Should Kim be afraid? WENN

Celebrity Cribs: “N-Word” Gwyneth Paltrow And Chris Martin Cop $10 Million Los Angeles Mansion [Photos] Posted: 22 Jun 2012 05:28 AM PDT Looks like Hov and Bey’s BFFs have a new place to host swanky dinner parties Gwyneth Paltrow And Chris Martin Buy $10 Million L.A. Mansion According to TMZ reports: Gwyneth Paltrow is in escrow on one of the most spectacular estates on the westside of L.A. … and it’s costing her and hubby Chris Martin a pretty penny … TMZ has learned. The house — courtesy of famed architect Windsor Smith — was listed for $10,450,000. We’re told Gwyneth and Chris paid close to the asking price. The house has 6 bedrooms and 8 baths, which means their 2 kids will probably each get their own rooms. It was built in 2011, and apparently the real estate crash took its toll. The house was originally listed at $11,960,000 in September, 2011, but reduced recently. The house, which is planted on rolling grounds and lined with shady sycamores and even has a stable, is perfect for people with English accents. Hit the flipper for more pics. Images via MLS
